What is a Menstrual cup?
A feminine hygiene device that is inserted into the vagina during menstruation is called as menstrual cup.
It collects the menstrual fluid and prevent its leaking onto clothes.
Menstrual cups are formed just like a bell with a stem. They are made up of flexible medical grade silicone.
This bell-shaped cup seals against the vaginal wall below the cervix .
The insertion and removal of cup is facilitated through its stem.
After every 4–12 hours the cup is removed, emptied, rinsed, and reinserted depending upon the amount of flow.
The cup should be boiled for at least 5 minutes after the period and stored for use the next month.
Menstrual cup stores the blood rather than collecting it . So It works in a different way than Tampons and Pads.
The best part is that one menstrual cup is reusable for up to five years or more. So it might cost more than pads and tampons initially, but its long term cost is lesser than them.
Menstrual Cups are more practical and eco-friendly than pads and tampons.
As it is reusable, it significantly decreases the amount of waste generated from menstrual cycles .
There is no daily waste and the amount of discarded packaging is also decreased.
Most menstrual cups are sold by brands in a smaller and a larger size.
Menstrual cups are sold colorless and translucent, but there are many brands selling the same in pink or purple colour.
Menstrual cups are a safe option as compared to other forms of menstrual hygiene.
What’s different about Everteen Menstrual cup?

2) It is specially designed to let you experience the most comfortable periods .
3) It is really soft , flexible and doesn’t cause any skin irritation.

What’s inside the pack :
The box contains a menstrual cup, one storage pouch and an instruction manual.
It is advised to read the instruction manual carefully before using the cup.
How’s the packaging :
In one word, I would like to say SAFE.
The box and the pouch completely covers the cup so that it doesn’t come in contact with any external dirt.
How to use?
Initially, the menstrual cup is folded and then inserted into the vagina. It will unfold gradually and create a light seal against the vaginal walls.
Sometimes you may need to twist the cup in order to ensure that the cup is fully open. The cup won’t cause any discomfort if it is inserted properly.
As comparison to the use of a tampon, the menstrual cup should be placed lower in the vaginal canal. The stem has to be completely inside the vagina.
Use water -based lubricant if it’s necessary for insertion.
Note: Never use silicone lubricant, as it can be damaging to the silicone.
The cup is removed by reaching up to it’s stem to find the base.
Directly pulling on the stem is not recommended as it creates suction.
It is removed by pinching the base of cup to release the seal.
The menstrual cup should be cleaned thoroughly before reinserting. It can be washed with a mild soap and sterilized in boiling water for a few minutes at the end of cycle .
Price and availability :
It is available at a price of Rs.435 on many online sites like Amazon, nykaa and flipkart. The price is fair if the reusability factor is considered.
I would rate this product as 4.5/5 .
Initially, I was doubtful as I had never used anything except pads but then I explored about this product.
I found it very useful and safe. Every pretty lady out there should try this out.
